Good Times

Most of the family came and it was so nice to have so many
of us together!
I hadn't taken this dress out of it's plastic until that morning and was excited
to find that it has toulle underneath for poofiness!!
Now I'm wracking(sp?) my brain to find another excuse
to put it on her again because I love it!
Such a shame to wear it once and be done.
Anyway, thanks to all who came!
We loved having you!

If you're interested in the details...
No drugs for the delivery. However, after birth I figure I've met my pain quota for a while and I take whatever I can get by way of drugs. Hopefully, that explains why I introduced Avery to a neighbor as Audrey today. Also, I kept referring to Avery as "he" or "him" all last night. Drugs or lack of sleep, I figure one of those is excuse enough!
The labor is a little fuzzy. Tate's delivery was a planned inducement, so I was mentally prepared and physically rested. This time, it was a little more of a surprise and I'll share some details now. Monday at 7pm, I feel some gushing and realize that this isn't the normal stuff. So Eric advises me to call the hospital, which I do while he goes to run an errand. He gets home around 8pm and I inform him that the nurse said to come in so they can see if the water broke. We call Aunt Sandra to come watch Tate and head out. Oh, and I'm bawling like an idiot because for some reason it has just now really hit me that it will never just be us and Tate again and I'm so sad to leave Tate that night. He sees me cry, but could care less.
They confirm at the hospital that it is amniotic fluid, but they still feel a membrane around her head, so there may be a tear at top. I'm dilated to a 4 and feeling no contractions. They monitor the baby and let us walk around/rest for the next few hours. I hate being poked, but if labor doesn't start naturally they'll have to induce. Sometime after midnight, I feel contractions and we keep walking/resting. Later a nurse comes with the fluid, ready to induce, and I proudly proclaim that I think I'm feeling regular contractions! So, they monitor and we're good to go sans poking (my goal =), well, that, and a healthy baby!).
Labor progresses and I let the nurse know later that they're bad, so she checks and I'm at a 9-10. They call in the on-call doc, who is my doctor's wife, and she checks to see that the baby is probably turned the wrong way and only at a 0 station. We waited thru some contractions and she wasn't progressing, so they had me turn on my side, and BAM! She was down and turned and I had to push. In came the doc, and after 8 minutes of pushing she was out! It was 8:08 am. All present said that she's huge, but she still seems tiny to me. They immediately put her on me, but I was too exhausted to hold her and just wanted them to clean her! Plus, she was peeing all over me! (I warned you to only read if you really wanted details!) I immediately requested that Eric and my doc never let me go natural again, if there is another time =) That was a looooong 8 minutes, but I realize that I have it easier than most, so I won't complain anymore.
Anyway, she beat Tate by 7 oz. and 1 inch. And he's slowly warming up to her. The first time he heard her cry was the first time he acknowledged her presence. I think he thought she was a doll before then. He's not to much of a man to try her pink binky, but he's also given it to her a couple times, even though she's not interested. We've been spoiled with family and friends and food and are loving the support. Eric was an awesome support to have during labor and is doing everything for us now. I'm seriously being spoiled and loving being given the time to just focus on getting to know Avery, not Audrey. Thanks to everyone who's been sending well-wishes!

All Growed Up!

Well, our little baby is all grown up and ready to fly the coop! It seems like just two years ago we brought him home from the hospital and wondered what to do next!

Anyway, it was a fun and busy day and I layed around all day today to recover. I think I may repeat this for another couple days to fully recover =)
And mother, I'm carrying on your tradition. I forgot a gift and found it today. But being off by one day ain't half bad!
Here's a picture of growing Avery. I apologize because it's not that great, but it's the only shot with some of the tummy. Cutie-pie Taeg is with me. Three weeks to go, baby!

How...
...do you get three two-year-old cousins to sit still for a picture?
Sesame Street, of course!
Anyway, I had to post this because it made me laugh. Tate had the finger up the nose, so I said, "Hands down." before the picture. As you can see, Preston threw his in the air, Brandon cast a spell on me with his "wand", and Tate completely ignored me!

Labor Day
We had an awesome Labor Day week in which we left early to head to the Boise State vs. OR game. Eric would be appalled that I used the word awesome in that sentence. But football isn't my thing and I enjoyed seeing Eli and Marie's new home and their kiddos. We got to visit with lots of family on both sides which is always my favorite. Travis brought up that I'll have to change this blog's name after the baby arrives. Any ideas?

Just Sweet
I stumbled across this and thought it was sure sweet. It's about the importance of women. President Hinckley is really the best!

For the Grandparents
Well, I know that this is just a bunch of pictures of our guy, but grandparents like it =) First up is Tate's "Christmas in August" mug.
Then we have evidence of yesterday's activities in the bath. He ran in the bathroom and shut the door. When I went to check on him, this is what I found. I'm just pleased that he can't turn the water on yet! I didn't know he could get in and out on his own and he kept going back and forth and shutting the door on my face. Once I peeked in and surprised him so he did a quick horizontal leap-thing into the tub. He laughed, but his legs are all bruised.

P.S.
It was PacSun, not whatever store I said. I'm talking about the $7 dress I was excited about. I wore it today and it ripped near the bottom, a strap just snapped, and it seems to have grown longer as the day grew on and I tripped over it. So, I take back my brag about it !

7 months and bed-crumbs
First, I have to brag on pudding face up there. He's been getting up earlier than us and doing whatever he pleases b/c I'm too lazy to get out of bed before 7-ish. The other day, he brought us grahm crackers in bed. My reaction is, "Argh. Crumbs." Eric's reaction is, "Mmmm, not bad! Breakfast in bed!" So, next time I'll have some bacon and eggs ready for him to cook up and serve us in bed. I can deal with crumbs if I'm getting the royal treatment!
Picture number two is for Bre's sake. I was telling her about my new dress and she wanted to see. I also had my hair cut yesterday. So, why did only one person compliment me on my hair at church today? Don't think I didn't notice people!!! I need validation!
And the little sign says "7" for 7 months. I think this is the first "month" picture I've taken with this pregnancy. I've totally hit the mumu stage of pregnancy. It's hot and all I want are fat dresses. I bought one yesterday for $7 at Hot Topic. I've never gone there, but they had all their sale racks oozing out into the mall halls so we couldn't avoid them. That was cool.
Roomies!
Fourth Family Pics

The boys are sleeping so I figured it was a swell time to do a mini-blog marathon since it's been a while. First, these are pictures that Eric's sister, Jennifer, so kindly took and distributed on CDs for us all. We went to the mountains for the Fourth of July. There was much good company and yummy food to be had =)

Gu-uys! What am I going to do about this kid growing up?!
p.s. Office fans, the title is to be read with the voice and influction of Michael in the episode where he's hanging with the girls at the mall and says something like, "Gu-uys! What am I going to do about Jan?"
Look at MY CREATION!!! bwa-ha-ha-ha!
My sister-in-law, Melissa, inspired me to do stuff. So here's my thing. (I can see Mrs. Mitchell, my old English teacher cringing at those last two vague sentences.) And yes, yes, I know, she actually makes furniture, but this is still venturing out there for me.

This was g-ma's entertainment center that nobody wanted. I couldn't even sell it on Craig's List, so I used our left-over wall paint to make it purty. I sanded the edges for a little antique look and contrast to the wall, but you can't tell much from the picture. I'm excited to have it now and add some decorative touches =) Best of all, it was free!
