Mayan Ruins

On our last day in Belize we had planned on relaxing at the beach and shopping the local boardwalk or whatever.  But we decided on a spur of the moment trip inland to learn about and see some Mayan ruins.  It was really beautiful and I learned a lot.  Overall, this vacation was just a gift.  Literally, from Ritchie and Debbie, it was a gift.  And it was a gift to get to leave in the middle of a harsh winter to enjoy the sunshine and water!  The company was fabulous, too.  I truly appreciate that I got to go and learn and enjoy and take a break from my responsibilities as a mom. I believe I was gone for a total of 9 days, which was too long to be away from the family, but I knew they were in good hands with Eric half the time and my folks the rest of the time.  It was really fun to reunite when I got home.  A little break is healthy.  Travel took up 4 of the days and I learned that I don't love flying, but I couldn't complain because I was still enjoying the break from taking care of little people and reading some good books during the trip. It was a trip I'll always remember!
