Puddle Jumping

It was raining when we ran errands this morning.

When we returned home, Tate and I went inside. Tate has never liked getting "dirty", which is what he calls wet.

But instead of heading inside the house, Avery went towards the giant puddle behind the car and waded a little into it and stared, very much torn by the temptation to go further and the call of her mother to come back inside.

So, after some eating and napping, and with some rain boots on, we ventured to the deep puddles by our home.

It is hard to get good pictures during a good puddle romp because nobody wants to look up! But they had fun, and even when they both fell a few times, they didn't want to quit.

Tate stopped for some singing. He'd stop when a car came by and then when they passed he'd say "I sing again." As usual, he sang the alphabet song, but the new one was his variation on "Wheels on the Bus" with verses such as:

The feet in the water go stomp, stomp, stomp...

and

The Avery goes far away, far away, far away...

That last one wasn't a mean one, she was just going to puddles that were far away from us =)

This is Avery's aggressive face that was see A LOT.

I love puddle jumpin pictures. With all the rain we get here, I never see any puddles. We'll have to come visit so Lane can get in on the action! (and so you can see my awesome highlights)
